Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
BurnArc is made by Lakpriya Senevirathna. It shows your Claude Code usage limits on your Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what the apps handle. The short version: I don't collect anything. There is no BurnArc account, no BurnArc server, no analytics and no tracking.
What I collect
Nothing. I don't collect, receive, store or sell any personal data or usage data from BurnArc. The apps contain no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
What the apps handle on your devices
- Claude Code status-line data (Mac). When you add a Claude Code profile folder, BurnArc installs a small script in that folder (
aiusage/statusline.sh). Claude Code passes it the same data it gives any status line. The script saves the latest copy and a history (at most one entry a minute, kept for 30 days) inside that profile folder. It makes no network connections. - Your choices. Account labels, display settings, alert settings and the profile folders you picked are stored in the app's preferences on each device.
- Pairing keys. Each paired iPhone gets its own secret, stored in the Keychain on the Mac and the iPhone. You can unpair at any time.
- Notifications. Alerts are created on your devices. A small record of which alerts were already sent stays on the device that sent them. With iCloud sync on, the Mac also sends your iPhone's warnings through your iCloud (see below).
What moves between your devices
The Mac app shares usage with the iPhones you pair, directly over your local network, encrypted with TLS using that phone's pairing key. The iPhone passes it on to your Apple Watch with Apple's WatchConnectivity. What's shared:
- usage percentages and reset times for each window, and overage;
- your account labels and your Mac's name;
- for the live session: the model, effort level, approximate cost, context size and project folder.
Your prompts, Claude's replies, transcripts and session IDs are never shared, and nothing is sent to me.
iCloud sync
So your iPhone stays up to date away from your Wi-Fi and while its app is closed, BurnArc can also sync through your own private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit). It's on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings on each device. With it on:
- The Mac saves the usage listed above to your iCloud, in an end-to-end encrypted field that only your devices can read. The iPhone fetches it from there.
- The iPhone saves its alert settings there, also end-to-end encrypted, so the Mac can warn it.
- The Mac's warnings for your iPhone (for example "Weekly limit 80% used") are saved as short notifications so Apple can deliver them as push notifications. Their title and text aren't end-to-end encrypted. The Mac deletes them after a day.
This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. I can't see your private database. Turning iCloud sync off on the Mac deletes its saved usage, and turning it off on the iPhone deletes its alert settings.
Network connections
- Local network: the Mac and iPhone find each other with Bonjour on your Wi-Fi.
- iCloud: with iCloud sync on, the apps talk to your private iCloud database, as described above.
- Claude's status page: the apps read the public status page at status.claude.com to show service incidents. This request contains no data about you or your usage.
BurnArc never asks for your Claude password, OAuth token or API key, and never calls Anthropic's APIs on your behalf.
Deleting your data
On iPhone, Settings → Delete all local data removes saved usage and unpairs every Mac. On the Mac, uninstall the hook from Settings for each profile (this restores your previous status line) and delete the app. Removing the apps removes their stored data.
Children
BurnArc is a developer tool and isn't directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
